Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives - Free Round Trip Speedboat when stay 4 nights or more between 17 April - 15 October 2026

The grand 2-bedroom overwater villa was exceptional. Wonderful swimming pools. Very nice to have access to the sister resort next door, giving us plenty of restaurant options and more facilities, too. Half board includes 2 drinks per person per meal. Super friendly staff.

Staff service was slow at times. Our appointed staff member was quite busy. A bit crowded and less luxurious than other Maldives resorts. There was construction on the island during our stay. Things like big water tanks were visible to us, which takes away from the magic. Dinner at the main buffet was not great (breakfast was very good!). Lack of attention to details overall.

Overall, our stay was decent. The speedboat transfer from the airport to the island was a great start—the boat was luxurious, very clean, and the ride was smooth and enjoyable. The resort itself is modern, very clean, and well-maintained. However, the weather wasn't ideal as it rained for several days during our trip. Additionally, the beach near the sunset beach villas has a steep drop-off, making it hard to walk on, and the strong waves made getting into the sea from the water villas quite challenging. The dining experience was a mixed bag. We were very disappointed with The Gallery restaurant—the food lacked variety, and the quality was well below our expectations. On the other hand, Blue Fin (the à la carte restaurant) was fantastic! The food there was significantly better, and we strongly recommend choosing to eat all your meals at Blue Fin rather than The Gallery.

One of the most frustrating aspects was the buggy service. We often had to wait up to 30 minutes just for a buggy to arrive, which was quite inconvenient and definitely needs improvement. We also found that the All-Inclusive plan is not worth booking. It is essentially just an "All Meals Included" package with no extra benefits. Keep in mind that all water activities and excursions cost extra, and the prices for them are very high.

We were lucky because the resort is new—less than a year old—so everything was spotless and fresh. I highly recommend it. The wonderful Zu, with her lovely smile, was in touch with us daily and always ready to help.

We need more variety in the food served; breakfast, lunch, and dinner should not be carbon copies day after day. Each day’s meals should be distinct, as we truly grew bored of having the same food every day.
