The decor is stunning and all newly designed, the food in both the Smoke House and the breakfast room was fantastic.
Just needed a mirrror in the bedroom as currently there aren’t any but management bought me an extension chord so I could dry my hair in the bathroom.

Disappointing value for the price
We paid R2,600 for our stay at Ochre & Ash and, unfortunately, felt that the experience did not justify the price.
On arrival, we received a very friendly welcome and found the staff helpful and pleasant. The bed was also extremely comfortable, which we appreciated.
However, the room itself was relatively compact for this price point. The bathroom floor appeared to be dirty, and the shower design resulted in much of the bathroom floor becoming very wet, making it quite slippery and something guests should be careful of.
Our bedroom was situated directly adjacent to a staff room and toilet, which meant there was fairly constant activity and noise next door. The bathroom windows also overlooked part of this area, which affected the sense of privacy.
The room had been heavily sprayed with room fragrance before our arrival. The smell was overwhelming, and we had to open the door for some time to air the room.
We were also disappointed by our experience at the on-site Smoke House restaurant. Although we had a booking, the staff appeared to have no record of it. We were simply pointed towards a table, where we found dirty cutlery piled up. After waiting without receiving any service, we eventually decided to leave.
There are certainly positives — particularly the friendly arrival, helpful staff and very comfortable bed — but at R2,600 per night, we expected a considerably higher standard of accommodation, attention to detail and overall guest experience.
