The 100 year old house we stayed in was gorgeous. A historic kampung house on stilts; however, it was also outfitted beautifully with all the modern amenities, including AC, electricity and lovely tiled bathrooms with hot water. The grounds and gardens were gorgeous and atmospheric. The pool was the perfect temperature, and beautiful. The host family went above and beyond for our needs, including ordering a delicious satay dinner for us and driving us to a nearby rubber plantation and tapping a rubber tree for us to see and feel the rubber. Our family of 10 stayed comfortably and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaysia.

Lovely, old, wooden, traditional malay house. The yellow house was built in 1920 and relocated. It has a lot of character. Tastefully decorated. Sleeps 11 people comfortably. Bathrooms are modern with good shower & water pressure. Located less than 1km from gopeng toll gate (NS highway) so it is perfect for a stopover to break your journey. There a nice small river running through. A small swimming pool also available. BBQ equipment available.
Nothing that i didnt like. However, as a heads up to others - there’s no airconditioning, but plenty of ceiling fans, so it is cool enough. There is no hot shower, but if you want to experiece the tradional life then you should have cold showers. 😁 Bring your own snacks/beverages.

Unique experience staying in a original, traditional kampong house but with modern amenities. The bed was very comfortable and linen was fresh. The kitchen had cooking facilities, a proper fridge, unlike the mini fridge in most hotels. We took advantage of the beautiful surroundings to have a mini photo shoot dressed in our traditional attire. En Rizal the manager was very gracious to wait for our late arrival, close to midnight, and still took us for a short tour of the property. The next morning he kindly brought us out for a traditional breakfast in Gopeng town and a quick drive to nearby attractions.
The lighting in one of the bedrooms and bathroom could be made a little brighter. Some of my friends felt the sound of the traffic at night from the nearby main road and the light coming into the room through the ventilation grill disturbed their sleep, but this could be lessened by with the optional use of eye masks and ear plugs.
