It is a decent hotel for a short stay. Nice heritage hotel, close the the railway station and airport. The staff were friendly and courteous. Biggest advantge is its location close to the railway station.
The breakfast service can be better

Overall the property is very picturesque, is very clean and well appointed. The property itself stands back just off a busy main road, but isn't affected by the noise. Our bedroom was of a very good size and well equipped, as was the bathroom.
Unfortunately, the bad points rather outweigh the good points. One of the main reasons for choosing this property was the reviews of the food and the restaurant, but what a let down. On arrival we asked about eating in the restaurant that evening. only to be told it wasn't open during our stay due to maintenance work being carried out.
Slightly concerned, I asked about breakfast, and was told that wouldn't be a problem, breakfast is served between 8-9am. With that in mind I booked on a walking tour of Trivandrum, starting at 9.15am the following day, thinking that would give us enough time to have breakfast and travel to the meeting point. At 8am the next morning we arrived in the lobby to be told breakfast won't be served until 8.30am. After a little bit of persuasion they agreed to serve breakfast earlier, and were shown through to what was a perfectly well maintained restaurant!
However, If that wasn't frustrating enough, the breakfast served up was something you'd expect in a far cheaper property. It included a few pieces of fruit between us, cold toast and two stodgy shop bought pancakes each, along with a tea made from cheap tea dust (the knowledge gained in our trip to Munnar tea fields was helpful here).
This was repeated on our second morning of our stay, so not just a one off event.
I'm not sure why the restaurant wasn't open, and the food was so poor; may be there was an hidden issue, or it was just the beginning of the season, but either way we should have been told prior to arrival the restaurant wasn't open and offered a refund or cheaper rates.
Fortunately, our experiences away from Amritha Heritage didn't put a spoil our time in Trivandrum.
