The rooms were clean, so were the bathrooms, the location was near the Darjiling railway station and near Chawk bazar. The host Samit was welcoming and friendly. He maintains the property all alone and he is your guide, friend and confidant. The place feels quiet and homely. You have a dedicated area to hangout, chill. This area also functions as a cafe. The hostel felt safe and comfortable.
They could provide privacy curtains and personal light(they had one which was not working)

Great hostel for relaxing after a busy day . The host is what hosting is all about .
He is very knowledgeable on the area including Sikkim and knows contacts to hire motorcycles .
Hot water is from an electric immersion so perfect for a quick hot shower .
The wifi during my stay was super fast .
The beds are in my opinion are 5 star and the duvets provide ample warmth on cool nights .
The price point is excellent, would definitely recommend.

- Close to the city centre
- Reasonably priced
- Clean bedding
- No heater, electric blanket available at Rs.100 per night
- Washroom was dirty, no hot water in the shower
- Room was tiny and unclean in general
- No food facilities in the hostel
- Extremely steep road from darjeeling toy train station as well as to the city centre
- Rightmost window of female dorm doesn't close all the way, extremely jarring for a solo female traveller who had to spend a night completely alone in the dorm
- For christmas, there was no arrangement for any socialising. As a hostel, you'd expect more avenues to meet people, bonfires, jam sessions etc. The vibe was very low in general.
