We were looking for a one night getaway within a 2 hour drive from our home in suburban Kansas City. We found the perfect drive by heading down to Osceola and then over to the Postcard cabin compound.
These are actually tiny homes that have been set up in spacious campground spaces. We stayed in one with two queen beds that were set as bunkbeds. They were both very comfortable.
Everything was clean. The setting was really fun. Everything was there for us including 2 cups of “pour over” coffee, 2 cups of instant oatmeal, a bag of popcorn, two bottles of water, two kits to make s’mores, paper towels, towels and toiletries for the shower, a rechargeable lantern, firewood, a lighter, and enough to make a light dinner in the kitchen, etc.
We’re glad that we stopped in Oceola and picked up a bag of frozen Chicken Alfredo that fit perfectly in the little sauce pan on the stove top. There was no microwave so I’m glad we didn’t buy microwavable dinners. There was a small frying pan enough for a few scrambled eggs if somebody wanted to do that. So I’ll be sure to bring things that you can grill on the fire pit grill outside if you’re wanting something more than that.
We did bring cereal, milk, and bananas for the next morning, and were happy to have the little fridge in the kitchenette.
The check-in was easy. The host was responsive.
The nature trails were fun to walk. Of the 40 or so cabins we only saw three other cars in the compound while we were there.
