At a first glance, the apartment seemed genuinely nice and cozy. I thought I'd write it a nice review. But please read below.
For what it's worth, other reviews mentioned hearing people on the stairs. I got almost no sleep both nights and didnt hear anything.
Most importanly: the beds are tiny. There is no way these are adult-sized beds. I'm a 165cm tall fit woman. I am not overweight. Yet I had to push the beds together to get any sleep because I kept on falling off the bed. Before I figured that out I spent an entire day on 3 hours of sleep total.
Other things:
- more than 3-4 months of mold growth in the bathroom
- poor cleaning - there was short black hair stuck to the bathroom wall. I'm a blonde with long hair.
- the trash drawer stinks like trash
- when you enter, there's an extremely strong smell of cleaning chemicals. I kept the window open the entire time and it never went away.
- I was woken during the night by overhwelming sewer smell.
- the fridge is dirty inside. It's also very loud, and because it's next to the bed, you have to use earplugs to sleep.
- the shower doesnt maintain stable water temperature.
- you can hear when upstairs neighbours flush their toilet.
- what floor is it on? Good luck wandering around the entire building looking for the number on the door because it's not communicated.
- the power outlets are not next to the bed, they're under the bed.
- the pillows are very low quality and flatten after 5 minutes of use. I had to use all 4.
- The duvet is winter-level. Even with the window open the entire night, it was just too hot.
- the shower setup, while probably not controlled by the host, ensures that the entire bathroom will be wet.
- the kitchen sponge and wiping rag are not fresh.
For the scale of Jyväskylä, this apartment isn't that close to the things you need, yet it charges the same as other locations.
