I am a backpacker and frequently travel to Bolpur–Shantiniketan, and during my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of staying at The Old House. My experience here was genuinely memorable and deeply satisfying.
One of the most distinctive and heartwarming aspects of this place is its staff. All the staff members are elderly, and they carry a natural warmth and constant smile that instantly makes a guest feel at home. Their behavior reflects sincerity, patience, and a rare kind of hospitality that is difficult to find these days. As a solo backpacker, this sense of care and human connection meant a lot to me.
The rooms are exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged, making them highly comfortable and suitable for a peaceful and relaxed stay. Cleanliness and comfort were clearly given priority, which added greatly to the overall experience.
The staff went out of their way to guide me in detail about various places to visit around Bolpur–Shantiniketan. Their local knowledge and willingness to help made exploring the area much easier and more enjoyable.
Another major advantage of The Old House is its excellent location. Being very close to both the bus stop and the railway station, it offers easy access to transportation, food options, and other daily necessities, which is extremely convenient for travelers.
Overall, as a backpacker, I was truly happy with the warmth, cooperation, and wholehearted support I received here. I would gladly choose to stay at The Old House again on future visits and would sincerely recommend it to fellow travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality in Bolpur–Shantiniketan.
