The hotel is a lovely, tastefully refurbished stone mansion with a charming courtyard. A short walk to restaurants, the port and all the sights.

everything, the beds were so comfortable , you had windows and air conditioning so the heat wasn’t a problem. The staff was also really nice and the location was close to the city center so that was nice.
The only “bad” things would be that there are keys for the bathrooms in your room for you to lock the door and they don’t work very well but i mean you can just tell people know that you are using it and they won’t come in.

Staff was extremely helpful, professional, and nice. Location was perfect, centre ville, not far from public transport and train station, near the old port but easy to get to other areas of La Rochelle. Building was newly renovated and still in good shape.
This is a hostel, not a hotel, though all the listings and emails I was provided said that it was a hotel. I intended to book a hotel for our stay, and all listings for Central that I saw in my search said hotel. When I tried to map a route to Central from the train station, I saw that it was in fact a hostel. I'm not sure if that's Central or Booking.com switching up the listing depending on what you are searching, but it's clearly extremely misleading, borderline unethical. The grounds and staff were great for a hostel, but that's not what we needed for this quick, family weekend trip. Differences in amenities, service, and other guests are apparent between a hotel vs. hostel, and the price was much more that of a hotel even though we were having a hostel-level stay. If you want a very nice hostel, this is for you. If you need a hotel, I would recommend elsewhere.
