The room was large with a good sized bathroom and a well set up kitchenette. Everything worked (lights, fan, AC, water). Shower had hot water. The views out to sea were superb. The staff were friendly and helpful. No problems checking in. There is parking space for cars. It's a short walk to the ferry port and the bus station and the old city. The tourist area for the boat people (cruise ships) was nearby with a food centre and excellent Indian food. There are two supermarkets within 100m. We used public transport and also hired a car for two days and saw everything we wanted to see.
Not much. Our washing machine didn't work but there were laundry facilities on the fourth floor so it wasn't a problem.

Perfect location - a large, airy room right in the centre of town, within easy walking distance of sites of interest and the fascinating architecture. The harbour view from our balcony was constantly absorbing, seeing the enormous cruise liners come in and out, as well as the everyday working boats, yachts and ferries. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The kitchen was very sparsely provided for and looked unloved. Just two pans, no toaster, no kettle, and the most basic of utensils and cutlery. The large walk-in shower was great, apart from the broken hose on the side spray and some broken grouting on the tiles. The hair dryer was unusable because the plug matched none of the sockets. A request for hand towels produced two flannel-sized ones. A little TLC would bring the whole apartment to the high level it deserves.
