Unbearable

It’s actually a wedding/ event venue which isn’t explained on the advert. We were told on arrival there would be a charity event that night. It turned out to be a big event with a DJ - the music was so loud and reverberating though the wall until 1am. Messaged both numbers provided by the hosts during the night and the following day, I have also emailed them and have had no response. Funny thing is the visitor book says to keep noise down after 10pm! We were supposed to be staying another night but packed our things and ended up paying for a different hotel. Requested a refund - Sykes cottages say they & the host aren’t liable for noise from neighbouring properties - IT WAS THE OWNERS WHO HOSTED THE EVENT. The property should only be let out if there is an event on to people attending the event.

We would love to go back great location for walking in the borders and Long Mynd , great pub for food just up the road

Nice quiet location

Great location close to lovely Shropshire towns and villages

Very spacious accommodation in a lovely peaceful location. Fenced Garden for dog to run around. Friendly host and easy communication

Just some suggestions to improve this accommodation: a pack of information would be useful- most self catering accommodation have instructions for appliances, info re the local area. The furniture could do with an upgrade… there is a tiny bedroom drawer in the bathroom-get a larger one so guests have somewhere to put toiletries, Please provide oven trays so guests can use the oven… that really is essential.

The location was lovely and peaceful. Host was lovely and friendly and looking forward to stay again
