All the rest, I had booked a 75m² stay at the address Magallanes Residences, 8000 Davao City, Philippines. Shortly before, I was told that my booking would be changed to another room because another guest had extended his stay. I don't think that's right since I had booked 10 days earlier. It could well be that those people wanted to extend but I had already booked ... Upon arrival, it turns out that my room (small room of about 25 to 30 m²) is also at a different address. It was a room in Avida tower 2. I didn't even bother to fight this, I had other priorities during my vacation than investing time in this. They knew very well that this was not okay.
The following things bothered me even more:
- No discount for my smaller, less luxurious stay
- I had to be present for the changing of sheets, I have never experienced this anywhere else in the world. Why would I sit in my hotel room during a vacation? Does that make any sense?
- Having to kill several cockroaches
- When the airconditioning broke down, I was first suggested to find another room somewhere until it could be repaired.
When it became clear that my girlfriend and I didn't agree with this, the airconditioning was repaired. The fact that they
wouldn't provide an alternative themselves and refund me seemed strange to me. Again, very poor service.
- No balcony as promised
- No terrace as promised
- Internet didn't work, I didn't mind but I added this for the sake of completeness
- This made the TV unusable as I could only use apps on it, unfortunately the internet didn't work.
I cant help but feel they didnt like the fact I had a discount because I was the first or one of the first first booking this venue. So i think they gave me another room.
Something like that is not acceptable.
I could have fought this but I felt it was not worth my time since it wouldn't have changed a thing.
