Hübsch und funktional eingerichtetes Apartment im Souterrain eines hübschen viktorianischen (?) Reihenhauses in einer sehr ruhigen und angenehmen Wohngegend von Durham.
Super bequemes (Murphy-)Doppelbett mit hübscher Bettwäsche. Sehr flauschige Handtücher, tolle neue Dusche.
Großartig bei britschen Gastgebern: die Küche war mit Teebeuteln und löslichem Kaffee bzw. Coffee bags (wie Teebeutel, aber mit Kaffee) ausgestattet.
Mitte/Ende September ist es schon recht kühl: die Wohnung hat große Heizkörper, leider noch nicht in Betrieb - oder wir waren unfähig, sie anzuschalten.
Die Gastgeber wohnen im Haus über dem Apartment: Wer sehr geräuschempflindlich ist, den könnte das evtl. stören (normale "Lebensgeräusche", kein TV o.ä.), uns hat's nicht gestört.
Im Gästebuch wurde von früheren Gästen die Hospitality der Gastgeber gelobt: Das können wir nicht beurteilen, weil außer den nötigsten Infos (wo /wie die Schlüssel zu bekommen waren) keinerlei Kontakt herrschte.

This is a compact apartment but with an impressive use of the space. The apartment was spotlessly clean, it has everything you need, the bed was comfortable and the road is quiet. We found it an easy walk into the town centre but it's a long, steep walk back up the hill to the apartment.
There are some minor tweaks that could improve the experience, eg a hook by the side of the sink for a hand towel and a better shelf in the shower. The signal to the TV cut in and out often.
