Let this be a warning not to book this property. When we ‘checked in’ to the property we were shown our room which resembles a doghouse more than an apartment. As soon as we opened the door we were welcomed by a horrible odour of wet dogs. This smell did not go away and after a few days all the towels and our clothes also smelled like this. The bedding also had various stains on them and the bed itself is crooked, causing back pains every morning. As you can see on the pictures the room is dirty. Also we could only find one light switch of the three lamps in the room, and this light switch was behind the closet…? Because of this we had to shower in the dark. And the shower was cold. There is only one electricity socket which almost falls out of the wall (does not seem safe). The pool is dirty. There is just not anything positive about this property… Immediately after checking in we checked whether we could find another property to stay at. Even though we could not cancel this one anymore we were happy to pay double. Sadly, due to high season and a couple of events happening in Cape Town during this week, everything was fully booked and we had to stay at this place. Would never come back here ever again, not even if I would get paid for it. I do not understand how you can rent out a property like this, it’s simply short sighted and bad business. All other guests we spoke to that had a room in this ‘villa’ also felt like they were ripped off. The owner probably knows that he will get shit reviews as he has put all the rooms on different booking.com properties (instead of having it as one property on booking with multiple rooms to choose from). Simply the worst stay ever…
