The Blue Marlin was perfect for our group size, and the house itself was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Since I was traveling with teenagers, the walk to the beach was easy and convenient. However, if you’re traveling with younger children and carrying beach gear, I’d recommend renting a golf cart to make the trip much easier.
For beach days, it’s also a good idea to bring a cooler, as you’ll likely want drinks and snacks while you’re there. One of the best parts of the location was that several restaurants and ice cream shops were within walking distance, making it easy to grab a meal or a treat without having to drive.
The kids especially loved having the bikes available to ride around the area. The beds were fairly comfortable, although comfort is always subjective and depends on the type of mattress you prefer.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend The Blue Marlin to others.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and none of these items were deal breakers. A few things that could make future guests’ experiences even better:
* The kitchen could use a few more cooking pans, especially for larger groups.
* It would be nice if some basic cooking essentials, such as salt, pepper, and a few common spices, were provided. We’ve found that to be common in many other VRBO rentals.
* Only one trash bag was provided, which wasn’t a major issue, but having a few extras would be helpful.
* Trash pickup was a little confusing. We put both bins out on Monday, but only one was emptied. The other had a note saying it wasn’t a Waste Management container, so some clarification on which bin should be used would be appreciated.
* We did notice a few large water bugs (sometimes called palmetto bugs or water roaches) on the floor during our stay. Given the coastal location and the number of guests coming and going, we understand this can be difficult to completely prevent. There weren’t many, and they were only on the floor, so it wasn’t anything that significantly impacted our stay.
Overall, these were minor issues, and we would still recommend staying at The Blue Marlin.
