Worst experience. The house layout is very confusing — the main door leads to two separate units (a studio and a master room), and both access cards were placed in the same mailbox. We mistakenly entered the wrong unit, assuming one card was for parking and the other for the room. Upon realizing the mistake, we informed the host. As a result, we were charged an additional RM300,+RM50 for a security deposit and cleaning fee, with a promise that the deposit would be refunded within 6 hours after checkout.
However, when we requested the refund Rm300, we were told there was an additional card processing fee. Although it may have been mentioned on Booking.com, we were not clearly made aware of it. When we asked the host for the exact amount for the card processing fee. she stated that the fee would be waived if we LEFT A GOOD REVIEW ON THE HOUSE. This raised concerns, as they kept requesting positive feedback but did not provide clear details about the card processing fee.
We checked out at 11:00 a.m., and as of 10.00 p.m(22.6.2025) 9 hours later, we still have not received the refund. As we keep asking how much the card fee and still not make a review. It feels like they are deliberately withholding the refund to pressure us into leaving a positive review.We have since contacted Booking.com, who informed us they will email the host, although they consider the refund amount to be a matter between us and the host. Unfortunately, the host continues to delay the resolution.We believe upon this review we probably wont get our refund of rm300..
The host handled the situation in an emotional and unprofessional manner by ACCUSING US OF SECRETLY USING BOTH room,and mention additional charges for penalty. Despite our apology and payment of the additional fees, the deposit is still being withheld as a form of intimidation in case we leave a negative review. We have retained all relevant evidence and are considering further action. This issue has also been reported tobooking
