We loved the cleanliness and newness of it all. We appreciated the air conditioning, the quiet area and the fact that we could check in so late.

The location is definitely one of the highlights. The beach is just a short walk away and is very amazing, with wonderfully soft sand and clear, pleasantly warm water. There is also a boulangerie and a small shop very close by, while a little further along you can find several restaurants, supermarkets like Auchan, Spar or Leclerc, and petrol stations. The location is also convenient for exploring the surrounding area by car, with several larger and attractive cities within easy driving distance, such as Bastia to the north and Porto-Vecchio and Bonifacio to the south. There are also train connections from Casamozza, which can be convenient if you wish to explore more of the island, including the inland areas, or travel further afield to places such as Calvi or Ajaccio.

The apartment was nice overall, but we were disappointed by the lack of some absolutely basic essentials and practical amenities. There was no salt or pepper, extra toilet paper, garbage bags, or hand soap. Although there was a washing machine, no detergent capsules were provided. In the bathroom there was also no hook for the hand towel and no shelf in the shower for toiletries. The kitchen was another disappointment. Although there was an electric hob and pots, there was no chopping board, chef’s knife, bread knife, wooden spoon, or other basic cooking utensils needed to actually prepare a meal. It would also have been very nice to have at least a coffee capsule and some mineral water waiting for us as a welcome, especially after a long journey. As we arrived late, we had no opportunity to buy these things until the following day, which made the first evening and the following morning less comfortable than expected. These may seem like small details, but they are basic things that make a significant difference to the comfort and convenience of a stay. Providing these essentials would greatly improve the overall experience. There were also a couple of issues that gave us the impression that the apartment had not been properly checked before our arrival. The toilet seat was incorrectly installed at the hinges, causing it to slip and move around and preventing it from closing properly. I ended up spending my first morning fixing the incorrectly fitted plastic hinge and reinstalling it properly myself; definitely not something you want to be doing during your holiday. There was also already some water in the washing machine when we arrived, and when we tried to use it, the water would not drain on any programme. We were offered the possibility of changing apartments, but as we were already unpacked and only had a few days left, we did not want to go through the hassle of packing everything up again and moving to another apartment, so we decided to stay.
