Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä

The room was amazing and very beautiful. It is a brand new hotel, so it was spotless.

There are many areas to improve on: - Included dinner is not good. The buffet of starters is almost completely vegetarian and is of very low quality food. Our main course was pulled raindeer, mashed potatoes and sauce. It was easy to chew according to the waiter. It felt like we got a dish from an elderly home. Dessert buffet is fine. Next day we choose à la carte, at an extra cost. This dinner was amazing and very delicious. The steak was very very good and the veggies and truffle fries are delicious. We are (spoiled) foodies, so maybe for some people the standard dinner is fine. Thing is that the food pictures you see on the website is not wat you get for dinner. So be ready to be dissapointed. The staff could also be more enthusiastic. Checking in was good, with the welcome drink. But dinner… they put your glass of prosecco on the table without one word. The F&B manager is only busy cleaning tables, while the rest of the staff is chatting at the bar. Also the manager looked extremely stressed, while there were almost no guest in de dining hall. When there was a problem with the time of our reservation she became very cold hearted and was more blaming us, instead of searching for an easy solution. Which there obviously was. Only the male waiter (Janne) was excellent and he should be in charge of teaching people how to work in the restaurant, great guy! So it is a hotel with a lot of potential, really easy fixes. Moderne Hotelanlage, sehr sauber und ausgezeichnetem Essen! Personal sehr freundlich! Zimmer sehr gemütlich, eigene Sauna und Jacuzzi top!

Der Waschbecken-Bereich ist für 4 Personen etwas klein.

Der Aufenthalt war einfach wundervoll. Von der ersten Minute an merkt man, mit wie viel Liebe zum Detail hier gearbeitet wird. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass großer Wert auf die kleinen Dinge gelegt wird, die den gesamten Aufenthalt perfekt abrunden. Bereits der Check-in ist etwas ganz Besonderes: In ruhiger, entspannter Atmosphäre am Kaminfeuer wird man mit einem Glögg herzlich empfangen – ein Moment, der sofort für Wohlfühlstimmung sorgt. Die Hütte selbst ist sehr gemütlich und zugleich modern ausgestattet. Alles ist stilvoll eingerichtet und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Das gesamte Team ist außergewöhnlich hilfsbereit, geduldig und jederzeit ansprechbar. Egal welches Anliegen man hat – es wird sofort weitergeholfen. Man fühlt sich rundum gut aufgehoben und bestens Es werden viele unterschiedliche Aktivitäten in kleineren Gruppen angeboten, darunter auch Programme, die nicht unbedingt dem Standard entsprechen und dadurch für besondere Erlebnisse sorgen. Die Cocktails sind ein Traum. Die deutschsprachige Hotel Managerin Claudia ist sehr zuvorkommend und eine gute Seele des Hotels.
