Casa do Vale is the pride and joy of Nicolae, the owner and builder of home. He has done some beautiful work in this home inside and out. It is a two bedroom and one bathroom home with a third smaller den room with a pull out bed. The one bathroom is spectacular, best shower since I have been in Portugal. The beds, bed sheets and towels were upscale. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen ware making a meal at home possible. We walked to a place that grilled chicken over an open flame and it was delicious.
My group is walking the Camino from Lisbon to Santiago. The Casa do Vale’s location in town requires a steep climb from the path to get to this house. Someone in our group has a car so we made it there. However, if you don’t have a vehicle and Nicolae isn’t working, I would guess he would come get you (he is that nice of a guy and his wife is lovely too).
