Beautiful, private location surrounded by forest. The place was spacious and clean. The many windows and outdoor space were nice. The bed was comfortable.
The towels and toilet seats were dated and stained. Some doors were hard to open and close, and we never got the balcony door in the bedroom to open. The stovetop didn’t work, and the landlord said the maintenance person would have tested it before our arrival but left it at that: no help was provided so we didn’t cook, which was a pity as there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The main living area smelled of mold, but I’m not sure that can be avoided. The bedroom, including the bedding, were fine.

The location is amazing! You barely see any other houses during the day from the balcony, so it very secluded. Having the huge windows is awesome, as you can watch the nature from any point. The bad side to it however, is that the birds tend to fly into the glass. We saw it happen twice in 2 days, both time birds were able to fly away, but we also saw a dead bird when we came. Would be nice if the owner put some stickers on the windows, so it does not happen again. Apart from that we really enjoyed the weekend.
It is important to note that to get to the bedroom from the living room, you need to take stairs that are outside. That means that even if it is raining (and it rains a lot in Cerro Azul), you need to go out just to switch between the rooms. Also, the bathroom in the living room is much better, than in the bedroom, so after showering you still need to go outside to go to bed. It did not matter much to us, but I can imagine that some people might not like it.
Also, as it is very humid, some things in the kitchen are a bit moldy. We have been living in Panama for some time, so we are used to it.
