It did the job

The property looked like someone had a bit of a rowdy party recently, locks broken off bedroom doors and holes in a couple of the internal doors, busy street but ok for what we needed, a one night stop on the way to the chunnel

Neglected and dirty

Price low for the area, not the worst bed I've ever slept in

As the rating was 7.2 I thought that previous bad reviews must have been a one off. After staying at the house, I think all those 9.0 reviews must be fake. The property is unbelievably dirty. Carpet hasn't been hovered in ages, scuff marks and holes are everywhere on walls and ceilings. Kitchen cabinets and dishes are all dirty. There are barely enough items provided for the 6 persons the property can accommodate. The door to the biggest bedroom has the handle and lock missing, and the bedsheets had marks. Towels were still damp and did not smell clean. Another bedroom had empty crisp packets in the drawer, as well as broken furniture. The bathroom was also very dirty, and water pressure in the sink was very poor. The door has a big hole in it, like someone put their fist in it, and the door does not lock. Despite the property being described as "two bathrooms" there is only a toilet downstairs, which had no toilet paper or handtowel, and was very dirty as well. The living room door is falling off the hinges. Thankfully we only stayed here for one night. The property is in desperate need of a deep clean and repairs, so it would be suitable to be rented out.

A very welcome test after a long tiring walk.

Spacious, clean and comfortable. Owners were responsive and the property was easy to access.

There were a few missing essentials such as a can/ bottle opener and ordinary mugs. The whole house seemed a little tired and would benefit from some updating.
