I have read previous reviews of the property, and as a previous resident of Guisborough I did have the knowledge of knowing where I was staying, and that is in a 2-up, 2-down early 1900s house that at the time was built for the iron, coal and steel industry boom in the area. This property is a lovely, cosy home that simply offers home away from home accommodation.
Parking - the owner has a parking permit for the street outside, however I repeat this street was built in early 1900s so parking is limited as no one has a garden or drive. You can park up on the Westgate which is a 2-min walk as it's free until 8am, or 10am if you have the clock display (which you can get from certain shops in the area). We didn't have any issues parking the 4 nights we stayed.
Location - ideally located for all the town centre's amenities. Again, it's an early 1900s terraced home so yes you walk straight in from the street, and yes you may hear people walking past, but it wasn't a nuisance and by the time you need it to be quieter in the evening, it is.
Facilities - downstairs bathroom at the back of the property, with a step to get in/out. Towels & some toiletries that can easily be topped up at the local shops. Kitchen with electric oven and basic kitchen items if you want to cook a simple meal, although we were out most evenings visiting family/friends in the area. Living room with sofa & fold out dining table and chairs. 2-bedrooms upstairs, hanging storage in twin-room & drawers in both rooms.
Nothing. Sam was really good with communication before & during our stay, we had the key code the day before, turned up to a lovely, clean, well presented 1900s terraced home that fitted our needs perfectly.
