There were rats in the yard on our last day but otherwise I absolutely loved this place. Mexico beach is my new favorite.

First off I called the day before to check the reservation and I was told I couldn't get the door code until 4 o'clock the next day. So the next day when we arrived I called at 315 and was told I should get an email at 4. At 4 I never got an email so I called back again.
THe person didnt understand me and asked about a car rental! I finally had to call the real-estate company as we.sat in front of the rental.
The person at the agency was so rude! It took and hour or more to get checked in!!
The next morning I woke up to a cockroach in the dinning room. And a beetle in the bed.
I can say Expedia was crap and the manager at the real-estate company was super helpful in the end. If I were you I'd just look down at your destination for vacation rentals. Go straight to the source!!
Also they say its 137 steps. I'm a woman 5'5 with a replaced knee. I counted it's actually about 400 steps to the water.
