The accommodation was very reasonably priced, and I felt it offered good value for what I paid. The location was convenient, being right next to the train station and within walking distance of the high street for anyone who enjoys walking.
The property was generally clean. The TV worked well and Netflix was available, which was a nice addition. The stove and refrigerator also worked perfectly fine. Overall, considering the price, it was a bargain.
There were a few cleanliness, maintenance and equipment issues. There was a small hair, possibly body hair, on the white duvet cover, which was quite noticeable against the white bedding.
There was no obvious towel in the bathroom. If the item I assumed was a bath mat was actually intended to be the towel, then there was no bath mat instead. Having said that, the maintenance team was quick at providing towel when requested.
The biggest concern was the condition of the pans and cooking utensils, as these were very rusty and, in my opinion, should not be used and need replacing.
The cabinet panel underneath the stove had also come away and was lying on the floor when I arrived, although I managed to put it back into place myself.
The kitchen could also benefit from having a microwave. The electric kettle worked and did the job, but it was a very basic plastic kettle and could be replaced with something slightly better. There was also no washing-up sponge or scrubber and no kitchen drying towel.
