The location is fantastic. Great price. Gated entry. Relatively new build, so everything appears new and clean. The porch and the view were wonderful. I appreciated that the AC unit didn't blast DIRECTLY on the bed (I hate that). Love that it had a functional kitchen (I cooked a few meals). Electric tea kettle was helpful (I brought my own french press). Also, there's almost nothing like it in the area, as far as I know. There are hotels and places to "stay," but nothing resembling an Airbnb. So this was definitely my top choice. Kenia was super responsive, friendly, and helpful. We chatted a bit and watched the whales frolic just off the coast. Good times.
The first night there were street dogs barking all night long which woke me up frequently. But I didn't hear them the second night, thank God. Also the on-demand hot water was not working in the yellow casita. Kenia let me use the shower in the blue casita because no one was in it at the time. In fact, she tried swapping the batteries and the gas tank and various things but could not get it to work. Candidly, I don't mind a cold shower when I'm at the beach. But I also like it when stuff works properly, haha. And these were not major issues, but I would've liked a cutting board, a chef's knife, and some larger spoons. Oh, also was caught off-guard when I learned it was cash-only?! Luckily, I could access some efectivo, but that could've been a disaster (if I had to transfer money internationally which can take a few days).
