This is an impressive looking villa about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Lazise. (If you turn left out of the driveway, you'll need to walk about 150m on a not too busy road - but busy enough that you'll need to stay in to the side. Then turn right and walk through much quiter roads, stay straight (past a dog we named "Guardy", who was lovely) onto a path that splits two houses, then keep following the road and it's common sense from there on).
The villa was clean, with no bugs inside (get mozzy spray for when out and about though) and the shutters on the windows help a bit with the heat blasting onto the building.
The three bedrooms we large enough for us and the kids, and the beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and modern (in contrast to an older style for the rest of the main villa (the kitchen was modern too). The spacious raised deck area was perfect for sitting out on through the day, and the patio area underneath was great for sun-bathing on the provided sun-beds too.
First thing's first. If you spotted in the over-head photo that there's a pool - there isn't. It has been filled in. But as the booking.com site doesn't mention a pool, that's ok - I'm just saying this in case you wondered!!
There were some issues, which they did kinda solve. The handle on one of the shutters (in one of the kid's rooms) was broken, so that needed to be fixed. Which it was. Regarda were super helpful with communication about problems, and trying to fix them. But the shelves in the fridge were broken, leaving us with only two that we could use. We called it in on the first day - 9 days later still no fix. Not too big an issue, but it meant we couldn't load up on food to eat at home, so Lazise town center's restuarants made a LOT of money out of us!!
Overall, this feels like a property that someone owns just to rent out and make money out of, and doesn't check in on it. Between the above issues, there were small things like laminate coming off the kitchen table (just needs glue), mirror light not working in the main bathroom, shower doors not closing fully - and worse, a blocked shower drain which my wife still won't talk about after she pulled however many year's worth of hair etc out of...
So it's a nice villa (you only get the top half by the way - just in case you thought there were rooms up and down) - but I guess "Tired" is the best way to explain it. The owner has taken their eye off the ball in terms of trying to make this perfect, and fixing the small things. You'll still enjoy it, you'll still love being there, but you'll start to see the missing glass sets, the broken toastie machine, the lack of kettle, the odd use of furniture, the dirty radiators, and may be left with the same feeling I have.
