What a fabulous property! We were a party of 11 mature adults from England chasing a solar eclipse. What a bonus to stay in such a wonderful villa. Secure parking for at least 4 cars. State of the arts aerothermal cooling system. Hot water as needed. Wifi good. Breakfast option amazing. Bedrooms comfortable, with electric blinds to keep out light and heat. Bathrooms clean and stylish. Kitchen facilities great for a large party with plenty of entertaining space indoor and out. We were so lucky to also be in the village during the Villalobos annual festival. An incredible experience, and the villagers made us so welcome. Lots of things to visit nearby, Our highlights were the Castle of Valencia de Coyanza and the medieval 'book town' of Uruena. We self catered easily using supermarkets in nearby towns and the village van service, We enjoyed drinks with tapas in the village bar. Such a quiet area, showed us a part of Spain new to us all. Owner extremely responsive to any issues we had (eg on arrival we couldn't find the cupboard where the cups were kept!) and unfailingly helpful and supportive of our stay in their unusual and welcoming property.
1) Bedrooms will need careful allocation. One magnificent double bedroom suite with a seating area and an extra area with two single beds and an ensuite with bath would be great for a family but reduced the bedroom options for our group. None of the other 4 large double bedrooms were ensuite but had easy access to one of three bathrooms with showers next to them. Top floor attic was a large open area with 3 double beds. Fabulous for family groups but limited privacy for our group. It worked for us because we were only 11 adults but it might be tricky with higher levels of occupancy. 2) We were only given one physical key to the property. We made this work by careful planning of trips out but it would have been much easier with more keys. (I see now that Airbnb mentions a keycode but we were not given this option so ask about this.) 3) The deposit process was clunky. Booking.com suggested cash on arrival. Can't see how this could be returned before full property inspection. By choice we paid by bank transfer but bank charges in either direction were higher than expected.
