Well-equipped kitchen with lots of cooking equipment, salt, pepper, and oil, plus tea and sugar. Spacious, light, and airy by day.
Lots of cosy armchairs and settees.
Comfortable walk from the nearest supermarket and within easy reach of some walks, e.g. Wolfstones.
Owner was very responsive e.g. when internet stopped working got on the phone to BT promptly.
Be aware the walk into Holmfirth is a bit longer and steeper than it looks on a map, especially after a day's walk and a wander around the town. Stop for a rest at the cafe inside the Co-op (not on Google maps!) or the bench in the hospital gardens.
Bus stop (walk 20m towards Holmfirth) will take you to Brockholes for the train.
Lots of cushions, pillows etc for those who like to adjust their rest or need extra support.
No major issues but a few suggestions for visitors and owners.
Beds are soft - may or may not suit you depending on preferences (I like a firmer mattress).
Sitting room really needs some side tables so you can put a cuppa somewhere while lounging around reading comfortably.
House has a "no shoes" policy but floors are cold, especially the kitchen - I suggest bringing slippers. Ideally the owner would provide some.
Only one key provided for a house of six people was inadequate. It makes splitting up or different schedules inconvenient - do you leave the house unlocked with someone inside or lock them in with no way to leave? Two is the bare minimum, ideally three for this house. This would also avoid the need to use the key safe which is on the grounds of only having one key!
Speaking of which, the key safe is slightly small for the large key, making it hard to close properly. Probably fine if you're used to it but most visitors won't be. A bit stressful when you're in a hurry to catch the one hourly bus back to the station.

The location was very convenient for our needs. The house is well presented with comfortable furniture and beds. If we had needed to cook it looked like the kitchen was well equipped.
There was no internet available, the phone signal wasn't great, so this meant we could not use our online devices, or watch streaming TV. There are several references to this in the visitors' book, which makes it seem like it's not a recent problem, which is disappointing. We found it very tricky to fit the key back into the key box.

Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and spacious. House was really nicely presented and the bedrooms were cosy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom the same. Free Wi-Fi. Decorated for Christmas.
Not a complaint, but the stairs are a slog at night when you've been on your feet all day/night, but keeps you fit and you appreciate the sleep more!
