It was a very short walk from the sea front/harbour. It felt safe and secure. The family were very welcoming and friendly. We were able to use the kitchen facilities. The AC in the bedroom was very welcome.

Jael was extremely friendly and gave me a warm welcome to her home. I was able to leave my bags until later in the day without any trouble. The room is big enough for one or two people with its own private bathroom
If you bring big luggage consider you need to climb a flight of stairs to enter your room. Nothing too hard but consider this if you may have some mobility issues.

The apartment is very secure, in the heart of Puerto Ayora, but on a quiet street. You enter through a locked gate & then through the bottom floor of the owner’s place. The apartment has everything needed. A great bed; great wifi; dependable hot water & a huge window (no view but also no visible neighbours so great for sky watching). The owner was very prompt, attentive & helpful.
Entering through the owner’s unit was a surprise, but a welcome one as it adds to security

Lovely welcome, very clean and amazing for the price. I have stayed in many other places in Santa Cruz and would now recommend this to other solo travellers or couples.
