Like all the previous reviews, the host/owner is very welcoming and gracious. He shared a meticulously curated list of food recommendations in Google Maps. The ground floor King Room with Balcony has a washer outside on the patio, which is helpful if you've been on the road a bit and pack light. The common area has a drinking water machine, coffee, tea, ramen, and various dining ware if needed.
Unfortunately the rooms don't really get natural light. Despite the balcony, the glass door is frosted. And the interior King Room only has frosted windows into the interior common areas of the building so if you opened the windows, you're opening your window to where other guests frequent. This is not a big deal if you're not in the room much or if you're only staying for a short period. But if natural light is a dealbreaker, this might not work well. It's possible other rooms have different setup.

We had an amazing time staying at Maru Yang. The room and facilities were modern and comfortable. The host went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, even providing us with fantastic local recommendations and advice. 10/10 experience. Best stay so far in Taiwan
