The location is terrific. Love the hidden speakeasy. Staff was delightful. History is very interesting and fun. Bathroom so nice.
The extreme high bed. Asks for a step stool if you are under 5.6. The standard king room is very small. Needed to use only sitting area for luggage rack. No room to add one. Bed too high to sit on.

I chose St Cloud Hotel because of its proximity to the Royal Gorge Railroad as we were doing the evening train. We only had to walk 10 minutes. The hotel itself is very well designed with lovely decor.

The shower was , literally, the nicest shower I have ever had in any motel I have stayed in. Very comfortable mattress. Delicious meal in the hotel restaurant.
Regarding the request for a quiet room.. there was a riding lawnmower mowing lawn outside our room window at 5:45 am. In my home town, most would consider that unreasonable and illegal. There are noise ordinances for a reason.
