Great location for exploring Roman Britain and the numerous historical sites. All within very easy reach of the cottage. The home itself was very cosy when we got into it as the heating was on and it was very comfortable because it was cold and wet outside! There is WiFi in the property, a large TV with all the channels, and board games to keep both adults and kids occupied. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you'd need including a coffee maker, toaster, microwave. There is a good size kitchen table with four chairs which is excellent for breakfast and if your eating your meals in the cottage. The beds were super comfortable... I really had a great sleep after exploring all day. There were ample towels available and complimentary soaps, and the kitchen had tea, sugar, coffee, salt... some little basics.

On arrival it was really difficult to work out which house we had booked as there were two number '1's' opposite each other. A kind man from the other number '1' explained where the house was and how to access it. I think he'd had to explain this more than once. This confusion could be easily resolved if the cottage had a name, and it was clearly visible on the wall by the front door. The home needs a little bit of maintenance. Scuffed paint, and splash marks that haven't been cleaned. Inside the fridge had signs of food left behind. The larger bedroom had a broken bedside table and the room needed a bit more dusting and vacuuming. A hair tie from previous occupant lodged under the dressing table along with dust was a bit off-putting. The dressing table mirror was very dirty. There was no mirror at all in the bathroom, but again could easily be resolved by placing a free standing one on the broad window ledge above the sink. Could the owners please consider small tables either side of the living room sofa where you can place a cup if you're having a drink while watching TV. The stairs up to the bedrooms are fairly steep so bear this in mind if any of your party has mobility issues.

Wir haben uns bewusst für den Ort und die Lage entschieden, der Bahnhof ist zu Fuß 10 Minuten entfernt, direkt gegenüber ist die Bushaltestelle. Das Haus hat für 2 Personen eine gute Größe.

Den Code für die Tür sowie die genaue Adresse haben wir erst vier Stunden vor unserer Anreise erhalten – und das trotz mehrfacher Nachfragen unsererseits. Die Kommunikation erfolgt überwiegend über eine KI, die hauptsächlich automatische Angebote unterbreitet, anstatt die gestellten Fragen zu beantworten. Zudem war die im Inserat angegebene Adresse falsch. Die Unterkunft befindet sich in Castle Hill 1 und nicht in Castle Terrace. Glücklicherweise haben uns freundliche Einwohner bei der Suche nach dem Haus geholfen. Auch die Beschreibung zur Schlüsselübergabe war nicht korrekt: Die Schlüsselbox befindet sich hinter dem Haus und nicht daneben. Das Haus verfügt weder über eine Klimaanlage noch über Gartenmöbel, obwohl beides in der Anzeige angegeben war.

It was on main road and needed to park away from property but the area very safe

Our stay was good but to find the property was very misleading it is not mellow house that is a private residence and the owner had been trying to contact someone to take the name off the booking as she has people thinking it is her property and it is not so you need to take the name mellow house off the booking

The property is excellent but the parking is not signposted very well also the was a constant leak from the shower in the bathroom plus no handrails to get in and out of the shower my husband found it very difficult to get in and out off it
