Comfortable and clean. Real character in my spacious room. Nice touches and decoration. Everything complimentary, including water, sweets, tea and coffee. Bar and restaurant serving real food! Not just usual pub dishes. Lovely, helpful staff.

Nothing. But be careful not to book the smallest rooms as they are very small and my friend had to move as couldn’t cope with small window.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs, the staff were welcoming and check in was super easy! Our room overall was really lovely, cosy and the little treat provisions were welcomed!

We were thoughtfully provided with earplugs, presumably for road noise — which turned out to be unnecessary, as the hotel itself was very quiet. Sadly, the real disturbance came from housekeeping. We were woken at 6:30am by a cleaner loudly dragging a vacuum up the stairway, followed by sustained, unnecessary noise until around 8:30am. The cleaner then stood directly outside our room speaking very loudly on the phone and coughing for an extended period. Ironically, the earplugs were eventually used to block out the cleaner rather than any external noise. To make matters worse, on arrival we found mud on the bedsheets and a dirty hairbrush left on the floor — basic cleanliness failures that shouldn’t happen. The hotel could have been a pleasant stay, but the housekeeping experience single-handedly ruined it and is the only reason this property is being marked down.
