The Royal George

Stayed in a balcony garden room. Beautifully decorated and great size.

Noisy. Could here the rooms either side and the glass bins being emptied any the kitchen. Main restaurant not open Monday or Tuesday.

The Royal George is only a short walk from beautiful Tintern Abbey. Plenty of parking out the front and inside is comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed a light meal in the lower restaurant and I can see how lovely the outside dining area would be in fine, warm weather. Our room was spacious and well appointed. It was a really relaxing and pleasant stay.

The staff is so well trained and friendly and the food is fabulous. The design and furnishing of the whole place is just right and very comfortable.

We loved our stay at The Royal George. The reception staff couldn't have done more to make our stay comfortable and both restaurants were great with lots of choice and excellent food. We stayed in the Deane Suite which was excellent for a family of four - the boys loved the bunk beds and having a separate lounge meant we could use the room during the day for some downtime or of an evening once the kids had gone to bed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

I'm not sure there was anything we didn't like - perhaps having more desserts for those with allergies would be a nice bonus!
