Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm.
Moonshine Camp is located up a small valley near the old spring where moonshine was made back in the day. This walk-in site is an easy 1/10 mile walk from the parking area.
The small glamping cottage has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the woods. It comes with a queen memory foam mattress, linens, blankets and pillows. A small outdoor cooking and food prep space which includes, a small washing sink, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Cook over the firepit with a built-in camp grill. The camping space is in the woods, surrounded by ferns, near a small spring and has a small table and chairs for two, rechargeable lanterns, a handwashing station and a covered changing area, with a portable toilet using biobags. We also provide a food storage cooler and some fun moonshine books and reading material. Firewood is available for purchase on site for $5 per bundle.
The space is suitable for two adults without pets. There is no electric or potable water on site. We can deliver ice, drinking water, a charging block and any items from our farm store.
All guest accommodations are very private, located acres apart by trails and farm roads. All guests have access to our farm trails, pond and river property, which is located three miles from our main farm and is a stock trout stream. Our farm store offers our Animal Welfare Approved eggs and meat, breakfast baskets, as well as seasonal produce and local items, including souvenirs from Shenandoah National Park and local artwork. We also offer farm experiences such as Snacks and Cuddles, river tubing, and host a variety of homesteading classes and events.
We are located within walking distance to a local brewery and vineyard, Blue Quartz Winery and Shotwell Run Brewery. The farm is a short 10-minute drive to Old Rag Mountain trailhead, Graves Mountain Farm and Lodge, which hosts Bluegrass, Peach and Apple Harvest Festivals and many local favorites, such as Bald Top Brewery, DuCard Vineyards, Sharp Rock Vineyards. 15 minutes to White Oak Canyon, the cute town of Sperryville with it's art galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. This glamping cabin is a great place to stay! Jen and all her critters were awesome, the cabin was very comfy with VERY warm and cozy blankets for our stay during some chilly nights. It IS camping. The cabin isn't heated (there isn't even a solid door, just a screen and a curtain), and you'll need to haul your water (it's a short jaunt and not hard if you just fill a small jug each day). I highly recommend renting a camp stove from Jen if you aren't bringing your own as this was much easier than cooking over the fire would have been (it wasn't an option at the beginning of our stay due to fire bans in effect). The only real drawback was that there is no cell service (which I'm normally fine with) and it made asking questions of Jen a bit more difficult and we had to make sure we made our next day's plans before heading back to the cabin (we were exploring Shenandoah park and various nearby towns).

We stayed for a long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer, there were so many trails to explore, great restaurants/wineries/breweries to visit and were greeted by some very friendly four legged friends upon arrival, Willow (the puppy) even guided us to our camp and even offered to carry some of our bags. It is the perfect location to stay in and cook out, go adventuring or just a night out on the town. We cooked some steaks from the farm store over the fire the first night which were some of the best we've had, the second day we hiked a couple miles to the waterfalls then visited the local wineries and were sad to leave on the 3rd. 10/10 experience will definitely be back.

Hose was excellent, great communication, helpful, answered questions, even returned items inadvertently left behind. Location was great for activities around the national park and caverns.
