Right in the centre of the Old Town - perfect base for exploring. The basement bedroom was a bonus in summer - no light contributed to the best sleep so far in our trip
Caution needed when using the spiral staircase, but a lovely feature of this apartment.

Check in was easy and the owners kindly had the apartment ready one hour early. The apartment on two levels is beautifully designed and furnished with a wealth of exposed stone - an upstairs wc and bedroom bathroom downstairs. The location is quiet and some 7 minutes to the old town with a small mini market near the apartment. Internet service is good as is Netflix.
When we arrived the feel like temperature was 9C but there was no heating switched on in the apartment and the bathroom was very cold. It took several messages to the owner to get it working and some hours to heat up. Unfortunately design is not coupled with functionality. The advertised dishwasher does not exist, there were no cleaning sponges or dishcloths in the kitchen and the drying rack is inadequate for 2 people. The stairs are extremely steep and we felt were dangerous - certainly not for anybody orthopaedically challenged, elderly, or having had a few drinks but especially dangerous was the fact that at night there was no top light to enter the staircase. It is impossible to take a 20kg case up and down the stairs so we had to unpack and re-pack carrying all items up and down. The water in the bathroom sink is not hot enough for a good wet shave so a kettle up and down the stairs. Finally the security gate to the courtyard was twice left open and the Venetian blind covering the glass entry door was poorly organised, we did not locate a safe, we therefore felt some anxiety about our security and that of our belongings. There are no windows in the apartment except the glass front door which opens onto a communal courtyard thus the apartment has little natural light and none in the bedroom downstairs. Ventilation is only provided by a mechanical system.
