A very comfortable apartment for a relaxing stay in Varenna. It was comfortably spacious, the bathroom similarly, with all the modern amenities. Full kitchen, and a washing machine. A full-on western view from the terrace! Very nice!! The free on-site parking is a huge plus, given the popularity of Varenna! Location was good - only 2 minutes walk to the ferries. But the main part of town with all the restaurants, things to see, the gardens, etc was 6-7 minutes walk....nice stroll along the lakefront walkway.
This is all remote checkin, with office assistance only during defined office hours. They send an 8 page instruction file for finding the place and checking in. Well, the location did match with googlemaps (using the provided GPS coordinates), but the route took us to the start of a one-way road (against us), just 100 yards from the property. I tried putting in locations the instructions mentioned, but they weren't found. The office really needs to provide some specific points that googlemaps can recognize, to set the route to get to the place. (There are also ZTL zones, so you have to be careful where you drive. The office will not set up a ZTL registration/pass - which at least 7 other places have done, during our visit to Italy)
Anyway, we finally got to the place, and getting into the garage, and getting the apartment keys worked fine.

Top Lage, 1 Gehminute vom Comer See und dem Fähranleger. Zugang zur Garage wenige Schritte vom Hauseingang. Ausstattung des Appartments war ingesamt funktional. Der Telefonservice durch die Vermietungsgesellschaft hat sehr gut funktioniert und ermöglichte uns unkompliziert eine frühere Check-In Uhrzeit.
Die Beleuchtung im Bad war dürftig, da teilweise defekt. Es gab keine Handtuchhalter im Bad, um die Handtücker zum Trocknen aufzuhängen. Vermutlich gab es mal Klebehaken an der Tür, die waren jedoch allesamt abgebrochen. Zum Duschen gab es nur die Badewanne, keine Duschwanne. Die Halterung des Duschkopfes war ebenfalls abgebrochen, was das Duschen sehr unkomfortabel machte. Einer der beiden Sonnenschutzflügel (Fensterladen) von der Terrassentür lag ausgehängt auf der Terrasse. Somit konnte tagsüber das Wohnzimmer nicht vor der sommerlich heissen Sonnenaufwärmung geschützt werden. Die Terrasse mit der wunderbaren Aussicht auf den See benötigt etwas Pflege an den ergrauten Blumenkästen, dem Unkraut und den ergrauten Terrassenplatten.
Insgesamt würde ein bischchen Aufmerksamkeit gegenüber diesen Dingen das Appartment in seiner Attraktivität deutlich aufwerten.
