Lovely clean modern property, comfortable beds, quiet area, short distance to the town centre and Abbey. Great location
Just the steep steps to the front but we knew about these and used the other entry/exit with minimal steps. The washing machine was out of order which we hadn’t been told about however we didn’t need it.

Lovely house in a prime location.
There had recently been a flood and there was a significant smell of damp. I anticipate that this matter will be swiftly dealt with however due to the professional standards to which the property is clearly managed too. Overall a very nice place and worth the money.

Location is fab. A short walk into Whitby.
The steps are ok in the light but need to be careful in the dark.
Lovely fittings in the bathrooms
It wasn't the easiest to find, down an alleyway between 2 houses and along a pathway. Then up and down some stairs.
The option from the front was a lot easier to find, just the steps.
Also there were no pans in the kitchen only the frying pan.

We booked last minute and this was good value for money, and suited our needs. The property was immaculate and clean, and the location suited us as we know Whitby very well, so knew exactly where we were going.
We are all fit, with no long-term mobility issues, so happy with the short walk into town, however two of our party did have leg/foot sporting injuries, so the steep steps up to the property were a bit of a challenge!
There is plenty of free street parking around, we were very lucky - but you may need to drive a bit depending on the date/time of arrival. Most rental properties in Whitby offer scratch card parking, it would have been more helpful if the property had this facility or some saved/secured/guaranteed parking - however as we know the area well, were prepared to drive around and look - but in this instance were lucky to find 3x nearby parking spaces, close to the property (for free!)
The beds were very comfortable, and the space perfectly suited what our group needed it for, but the living/dining room is snug, and the bathrooms are both small. We barely spent time in the property, but this may not be workable for different groups staying for longer periods. The top bedroom was large, there is the possibility for a family travelling with small children to have a travel cot in there. We brought a dog, so it was perfect to have her dog bed in that room with us.
Firstly, the directions and map take you to the wrong venue they are confusing and even once you know which route/entrance they refer to, they don't make sense as you cannot park by the Green Lane entrance. I'm assuming there was once a different footpath or access route that has since been blocked?
Both routes to the property are not accessible, if you have mobility issues, travelling with small children (pushchairs) or are a wheelchair/walking aid user - this is not ideal.
We used the side street entrance from Green Lane mostly, avoiding using the steps as much as possible, however the Church Street entrance is the best route for getting your luggage into the property if you are confident using the narrow/cobbled steps (as you can park at the bottom with hazards)
We lost around two hours trying to find the cottage. Phone support were nice but not very unhelpful, having never been to the property or even to Whitby, they unfortunately were unable to assist appropriately (as they had no reference point) and kept repeating the same instructions I already had sight of. They advised me to attempt to enter a different property.
I asked to speak to someone who had been to the property, such as the cleaning team or landlord. I was eventually connected with Maxine, who was incredibly helpful. She helped us locate the property, explained how to use the lock, (which has a knack) and confirmed that no late check-out request had been made or passed on, despite being told online that this was not possible.
Our stay was short, so the following didn't effect us, but please note (especially young families or long stays)
Furniture/supplies were clean but poor quality; sofas are narrow and uncomfortable, and kitchen stools flimsy/unsafe to sit on, some windows don't shut, there were not enough cups for the number of guests. There was also no toilet roll, cleaning cloths, hairdryer or enough towels for the number of guests.
