The apartment has everything you could need including refrigerator, hairdryer, full kitchen stocked with dishware and cooking implements, a washer/dryer combo. The facility is spotless and well planned, a beautiful traditional style by a local architect with tatami mats and a wonderful stone bath. The host is very responsive and attentive, he lives nearby so it's easy to get in touch with him.
The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood that has a completely different feeling from the busy streets and touristy areas. If you value a really local feeling, this is the place for you. It is about an 8-10 minute walk from a busy bus stop that will take you directly to most tourist attractions. It's a 10-15 minute walk in the other direction to reach a train that takes you directly to Kyoto Station.
There is a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and a bathroom and tatami room with futons and a kitchen on the top floor so if you're a group with two families it's really easy to have your privacy if you want it.
This was the perfect place for me, I can't think of anything wrong given my needs. That said, this would not be the right place for every group. This would not be a good neighborhood if you want to have loud parties, but it is perfect for a quiet walk in the evening. The stairs to the upstairs area are pretty steep, so you may want to consider that if you struggle climbing stairs.

The host was very gracious and welcoming. He showed us around the house and had a local treat waiting for us. He truly was the kindest man we have met. The location is very walkable and near lots of shops! The home was very clean and updated. We appreciated all the features. Truly could not recommend more!!
