The hotel location is excellent - close enough to all sights to go out, explore and come back to the hotel for a rest and a cup of tea. Don't be put off by the run down area just outside the hotel - once through the hotel entrance you are in a lovely, shady courtyard.
The host was very responsive to queries before we arrived and arranged free transfer to and from the train station (extremely useful since most of the trains arrive/depart at very unsociable hours and it is a 30min drive to the hotel).
The breakfast was superb and different each day, served in the beautiful courtyard
Our room was very small (much smaller than advertised), barely enough space to unpack a rucksack, and the bathroom was so small we kept hitting the walls! The views advertised must be for the premises in general, not from any room in particular. However, the room was clean and comfortable.
We were asked to pay in US dollars, which we had not expected, since the booking details state that cards are accepted (they possible are, but there was a very strong preference for USD).
