Amazing stay. Hosts Gerta & Zamir go out of their way to be welcoming; they are fantastic hosts and provide so much additional information on exploring Shkoder. The apartment is incredible! Most amazing view - entire huge roof top balcony with almost 360 degree views of town, castle, lake and beautiful Albanian mountains. Right in the town centre with awesome pastry shop below. Cheap traditional food in restaurant below apartment (to the left if you are facing the entrance) - owner of restaurant is very kind and helpful. Really comfy bed, great aircon, coffee maker and lovely and clean. Parking also offered. Would absolutely stay again in this special town.

I just spent three nights at The Veranda, and I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude. More than just a place to sleep, this guest house felt like a true home away from home. Traveling solo can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but the hosts here are so deeply kind, attentive, and hospitable that I felt completely safe and cared for from the moment I arrived.
They greeted me with a beautiful fruit platter, shared wonderful ideas for exploring their city, and were always warmly responsive no matter the time of day. I feel genuinely blessed to have met them and to have experienced their level of care. They even pointed me to a phenomenal local restaurant right in the neighborhood, which is centrally located and safe, yet perfectly peaceful and quiet.
The private apartment itself is immaculate and comfortable. After taking the elevator and walking up a short flight of stairs to my private entrance, I found a beautiful, smoke-free, air-conditioned space with hardwood floors. They’ve thoughtfully provided everything you could need, from a queen-sized bed, comfy sofa bed, mini-fridge, and electric kettle to a bathroom well-stocked with towels, slippers, a hairdryer, and a bidet.
My favorite part of the physical space was the outdoors. The patio, balcony, and sun deck offer an incredible place to eat outside while taking in gorgeous views of the city, mountains, lake, and local landmarks. (And for those who need it, the Wi-Fi is exceptionally reliable, easily pulling 80 to 90 Mbps down).
If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it. I cannot wait to come back.

Being in the heart of Shkodra while feeling right at home—it is the most strategic location for viewing the river, the castle, the pedestrian zone, the mountains, the Marubi Museum, and the lake; it offers the chance to visit these places up close in record time. The hospitality, cleanliness, fresh flowers, and handcrafted woodwork in the room create a relaxing oasis of their own.
