Staff (Sandra) exceptionally helpful and patient when my phone’s internet access failed.
The ambience was quite nice — like visiting my beloved grandmother’s home.
Having kitchen facilities available was valuable even uf I did not use them ( fresh cooking smells good too).
1. The wooden floors transmit sound very well. I would suggest adding rubber or felt pads to the bottom of chairs so they don’t make such a racket when moved. White noise machine might help.
2. Mid floor shower is dangerous. I have no balance problems but was very worried and almost slipped twice. The bathtub floor is slippery and there are no grab bars.
3. Shower mixers never worked properly and warer temp seemed to fluctuate.
4. One or two books on Iceland travel might be useful (lonely planet, fodor’s etc).
5. Night lights might help since location if furniture is not obvious at first.

Location was perfect. It's in the middle of pretty much everything. Inside was warm enough. Wifi speed was good. Kitchen was good. Lowest price in downtown though it was still expensive like everything else in Iceland. Host was very friendly and nice. Supermarkets and restaurants are just in walking distance.
"Key rules" were really annoying. I suppose it's time for the owner to switch to automatic locks. Sound insulation was absolutely horrible. Precisely, there was no sound insulation at all. If you whisper in your room, the whole house can hear it. Not so comfortable after a long journey and you are tired. Hot water in the kitchen tap smelled sulphury. Maybe that's common in everywhere in Iceland. There was a little spider in the room. We had to make sure that the little guy didn't pop in to our backpacks. Otherwise, we are in a big trouble at the airport security checking.
