Lovely, totally worth it!

The view is absolutely gorgeous, if you can please stay for 1-2 nights here to enjoy Lake Titicaca!! The decoration was so cute! Breakfast was simple but deliciously made by Ana (one of the hosts) The hosts were so nice, I arrived pretty late (around 7 pm) and I didn’t have time to have dinner… you are in a tiny island in the middle of a lake so there is nothing around. I mentioned this and Ruben (one of the hosts) got me some soup and hot water for tea, just what I needed!! They also took me on a tour around the Uros islands, and I was in the “family island” which was a pretty cool experience. Thank you Ruben and Ana 🫶

Everything was great. I would just say to anyone visiting to take some snacks/drinks with you because this is a tiny island in the middle of the lake you can’t just go to the supermarket if you need something…

This was a great experience for us. We had a calm, relaxing experience with great views of the lake. Breakfast was lovely and we were served dinner in the evening by our hosts as well. A great opportunity to find out about life and culture on the lake from our host who was very informative and gave a tour of the lake on the day we left. We have been touring around Peru and this was our best experience so far!

Amazing local experience one one of the famous floating islands in Uros

We had such a wonderful stay with Ana and Ruben at Titicaca Posada del Sol on the Uros Islands. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of their family rather than just guests. The accommodation is simple, cozy, and authentic, with beautiful views over Lake Titicaca. Waking up surrounded by the peaceful floating islands was an unforgettable experience. Although the nights in July can get very chilly, the rooms have heating and hot water, making our stay warm and comfortable. Also, plan to stay 2 night at least if you can. If you have only one night, please don’t go to Taquille, just enjoy Uros and the surroundings and spend some time with the locals. Ana’s home-cooked meals were absolutely delicious and gave us the chance to try traditional local food, while Ruben was always happy to share stories about the Uros people, their culture, and how life on the floating islands works. There is no Wi-Fi and no TV and honestly, that’s part of the magic. Instead of staring at screens, you reconnect with nature, the local culture, and the peaceful rhythm of life on the lake. One thing to keep in mind is the altitude it can take a little time to adjust but the coca tea and their warm hospitality certainly helped! If you’re looking for a luxury hotel, this isn’t it. But if you want a genuine cultural experience, kind hosts, breathtaking scenery, and the opportunity to disconnect from the modern world while connecting with local life, we couldn’t recommend Titicaca Posada del Sol more highly. Thank you, Ana and Ruben, for welcoming us into your home and making our stay on Lake Titicaca so special. We hope to return one day!

Thank you Ruben and Anais for sharing your home and teaching us about life on the Uros Islands

Totally unique experience, we felt like we were in another world. Ruben and Anais are lovely and we’re attentive to all our needs. We had a delicious breakfast each morning and homemade soup in the evening. The cabin is cosy , with a very comfortable bed. It does get very cold at night but once you are in bed it’s warm. Ruben provided a heater. There is a hot shower available. The journey under the stars across the lake at night was unforgettable, really special.

Nothing but you need to understand that this is not a luxury hotel but a totally amazing and unique travel experience

Struttura ben allestita , corrisponde perfettamente alle foto presenti. Ma la vera meraviglia sono Rubén e sua moglie Ana che fanno di tutto per rendere il tuo soggiorno confortevole. Noi arrivavamo alle 5 del mattino a Puno e, nonostante il check in sia previsto dalle 10, Rubén é venuto a prenderci all’alba con la sua barca. Stessa cosa per il check out . Il consiglio é di affidarvi totalmente ai loro consigli. Ci hanno fatto fare un tour bello, ricco di amore per la propria terra e calore umano. A disposizione hanno messo anche un kayak (incluso nel prezzo) da poter utilizzare a nostro piacimento. Ci si trova isolati , quindi i pasti (pranzo e cena) vengono forniti da loro (se si vuole) pagandoli a parte. Colazione molto ricca con frutta, pane, marmellata, succo e acqua calda per the/tisane. Alla sera dal terrazzino si vede un cielo stellato incredibile!
