No tea or coffee provided; only 4 coffee pods available
Shower drain kept blocking, water pools and spills onto the floor, leaving tiles wet and slippery. Extra care needed for elderly and children
Broken door handles (bedroom and bathroom). I was locked in the bathroom, thankfully my dad was awake and able to help me out.
Towel rail and bathroom hangers broken
One bedroom had no AC (owner arranged a fan after we contacted him). AC also took a while to cool rooms
Power cut on from day 2 onwards. Sending us 2hrs behind schedule on day 2 and thereafter we just limited the use of kitchen. When reported he thanked us and explained that its due to multiple appliances being turned on, which wasn't the case. As only the cooker was turned on. Further explained electrician was on holiday. Didn't offer any alternative. Main reason for booking a self catering is so that we could make some of the meals ourselves. We didn't get full use of kitchen as frying chips alone took longer due to power cut and oil going cold. The grocerie shop ended up not using our ingredients.
Only 3 duvets provided, and bed sheets available.
Check-in instructions were unclear. Owner first asked for passport photos, then said he would collect them on arrival. On arrival he requested copies via WhatsApp, on my side it took longer to send as difficult with roaming data. Fortunately I had copies saved, but this could have been avoided with clear, step-by-step guidance in advance.
Owner got annoyed when I asked questions about the property, days before booking. My only reason for asking was so that I could prepare before hand. Knowing if they have salt and pepper is not bizarre or something to get annoyed about.
