Das Waldhaus hat alles, was man braucht. Es ist sehr schön gelegen und super gepflegt und sauber. Die wunderschöne Einrichtung und die gemütliche Feuerstelle im Garten mit einem Spielgerüst für Kinder hat uns sehr gefallen. Betten waren sehr sauber, hochwertige Ausstattung - das auch in der Küche. Das Bärenspray hat für Beruhigung gesorgt. Jedoch muss man sich nicht allzu viele Sorgen machen. Es war für alle ein toller Aufenthalt. Wir haben Glühwürmchen, Fledermäuse und kleine Frösche gesehen. Die Betreuerin der Unterkunft war jederzeit da und hat uns sogar besondere Wünsche erfüllt. Wir waren traurig, dass wir nicht länger gebucht hatten.

Beautiful cabin in a wonderfully peaceful setting. We particularly loved the outdoor fireplace and BBQ area and the private river access, which is only a couple of minutes away by car. The river is lovely and shallow – bring water shoes, though, as the riverbed is very stony.
The kitchen has all the essentials for cooking, and it was very helpful to find basics such as salt, pepper, oil and herbs already there, as well as charcoal, firewood and matches for the BBQ. The large washer and dryer were a real bonus, and even laundry detergent was provided. Wi-Fi was excellent, very strong and reliable.
We also appreciated that bear spray was provided – although fortunately we didn't meet any bears!
The only real drawback for us was that the beds were very soft. We are used to a firm king-size bed, and found the queen bed too soft for two, so we actually ended up sleeping on the pull-out sofa. This is obviously very much a matter of personal preference.
The beautiful outdoor BBQ area is also in full sun during the afternoon and there is no parasol, so on a hot Virginia day it was too warm for us to have lunch outside. It should be much more pleasant in the evening.

Our stay at this beautiful home in Shenandoah was absolutely wonderful. If you are looking for a place to truly disconnect, relax, and escape the noise and rush of everyday life, this is the perfect spot.
The house is surrounded by incredible peace and quiet. Being there felt like a real break from the outside world — no traffic, no crowds, no city noise, just total silence and the beautiful nature of Shenandoah. It was incredibly relaxing to wake up in such a peaceful setting and simply enjoy the surroundings.
The house itself had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was clean, welcoming, well equipped, and had all the little things that make you feel at home. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into making guests feel comfortable.
And the host was fantastic — friendly, helpful, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Everything was easy from start to finish, and we felt very well taken care of.
This was exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find: peaceful, beautiful, comfortable, and far away from the hustle and bustle. We honestly could not have asked for a better stay.
A definite 10/10! We would absolutely come back and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Shenandoah. One of those places where you leave feeling rested and wishing you could stay a little longer.

אהבנו את המיקום, העיצוב והתכנון של המקום. גם בעלת המקום היתה מאוד שירותית ואדיבה. כשהגענו היתה סתימה בשירותים, ומישהו הגיע ממש מהר לתקן - לא מובן מאליו כאשר הנכס נמצא במיקום כזה מבודד.
אהבנו את הגישה לנהר וההליכה אליו. אהבנו את הישיבה בחוץ ואת זה שחשבו על כל פרט, היו מלא כלים, תבלינים, מקרר מספיק גדול, מכונה ומייבש מעולים, עם חומרי ניקוי וכל מה שצריך. אפילו היה משהו נגד דובים.
היה חסר לנו מדיח כלים. כמשפחה מצטברים הרבה כלים, בייחוד כשלנים במיקום מבודד - זה ברור שלא יוצאים לאכול במסעדות במיקום כזה. הנכס היה מלא בכל טוב והושקעה מחשבה בכל פרט, שזה קצת הפתיע אותנו שאין מדיח. זה לא נורא אם מגיעים ל: 2-3 לילות.
