About this house rental
WaitaWhile is privileged to be surrounded by the creeping vines and emerald canopy of the Daintree Rainforest, a forest that has been growing for more than 180 million years and so spectacular, Sir David Attenborough called it “the most extraordinary place on Earth.”
Everything that we do is in full commitment to protecting, nurturing and maintaining the critical balance between the retreat and the diverse eco-system of the Daintree.
WaitaWhile switched to becoming fully solar powered in 2021 – saving an estimated 3000 Liters of diesel being burnt by our generator every year. At WaitaWhile all light fittings and appliances have been assessed for energy efficiency, allowing us to showcase that living purely on battery and solar power is possible.
To allow you to fully embrace a true “eco experience” we have looked at more than just having solar power and water saving shower heads. We have also calculated Wait-a-While's annual carbon footprint and have undertaken a replanting program that includes the removal of exotic species along with the addition over 500 new indigenous plants to ensure your holiday is a carbon neutral one.
The property is architecturally designed to enhance natural ventilation, the security screens ensure airflow whilst also providing a chemical free barrier to wildlife. When available rainwater is used, we ask you to sort your waste to assist with recycling and we use and recommend local suppliers with a similar ethos and who we know will enhance your trip and understanding of this very special part of our planet.

Beautiful home in lush rainforest,
Fully equipped with plenty of space . Cow bay isthe most scenic in the area. Tip: the nearest place for supplies is the servo 10 minutes drive up towards cape Tribulation.

This house was amazing, nicely nestled in the rainforest and walking distance to the beach. Beautifully decorated inside, ample of good clean Kitchen utensils etc. The beds were extremely comfortable and again linen was clean and in great condition. Large decking area for sitting and socialising together and a great pool area.
Frustrating at how dark it was inside during the day as well as night, better lighting is recommended.
Would definitely recommend to stay here
