Summary:
This is one of our newest additions for the Avenwood Cabin lineup! You will feel right at home in The Hummingbird. Upon entering, you will be pleased to find our beautiful double-sided fireplaces and the queen bed will get you feeling cozy right away. Step onto the porch for a soak in the hot tub, make your favorite meal on the charcoal grill, or relax with a fire. This cabin is also equipped with star link internet to meet all your streaming needs. The perfect little getaway cabin to unplug.
The Neighborhood:
All of our Avenwood cabins are in the heart of Wayne National Forest. ATVs and horseback riding or just a few of the offerings that they offer. Hocking Hills attractions are just a short 10-15 minute drive (Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, etc.) along with ziplining, canoeing, hiking, and all the other adventures you are looking for! Looking for something a little bit more low-key? Take a jaunt out to Hocking Hills Winery and Brewery33 to taste some of our locally made adult beverages. For your convenience, downtown Logan is another great stop where you can grab a fresh-out-of-the-oven donut and check out some local shops.

Was a cute cabin realized after that had a hot plate and slow cooker so can make all your meals there! Only things I wasn't thrilled with is they really pushed for you to sweep and clean up cabin but you are charged a 50 cleaning fee and the bed was NOT comfortable.

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking in the Hocking Hills area seeing all the waterfalls. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals there. We would stay again if in the area.

Overall this was a nice place to stay for 2 nights. However, the listing clearly states that the cabin is located about 20 minutes from the hocking hills visitor center. However, this is nowhere near accurate as it is actually about 45 minutes away from the visitor center and any of the main places to hike in the area. It is also about 25 minutes from any restaurants/grocery places, which is frustrating that it was so far off from the listing. Also, we were looking forward to spending time in the hot tub but the water was so dirty we could not see the bottom and we decided not to get in. There was a good bit of dust on the walls. However, the cabin was equipped with the appliances and linens we needed for a weekend trip. If you are okay with a long drive to each hiking location and don’t plan on getting in the hot tub, I recommend this cabin. If these issues bother you I would definitely find a different place to stay. (We stayed at the end of May, 2026)
