About this house rental
Put in Bay, also know as South Bass Island has been called the Key West of the North. It is an island located in the western basin of Lake Erie and is reached by ferry from Port Clinton, Catawba or Sandusky. You can bring a car although the taxi service and golf cart rentals are a great way to get around. Put in Bay is definitely a fun loving place. The summer weekends are noted for the many taverns and nightlife, however during the weekdays and off season, it's a great place to relax with family and friends. There's history with Perry's monument, a lighthouse, butterfly house, wineries, a state park for lake swimming and fishing, a public golf course, jet ski rentals, miniature golf, or just enjoying the scenery at DeRiveria Park! After a busy day you can relax in the new development pool relax on the deck with a good book. Our home has two decks, great for relaxing and kicking back. On a quiet night you can hear the waves!

There is parking room for 2 cars or one car and one trailer at the home, No other parking is available.
Please leave the unit in the condition it was at your arrival. Trash must be bagged and placed in outside bin, Excessive cleaning, lose of key or damage to home will be charged to your account
Small well behaved dogs may be allowed off season, this is determined on a case by case basis!

Marie was wonderful, providing extra accomodations to help offset the Island Club deciding to work on the roads surrounding the property with very little information on very short notice. Very clean and with plenty of cups, straws, dishes, etc. Thank you!!

So, first off we had a really great time on the island. The location of the rental and the little neighborhood it is in is cute, quaint, quiet, safe, etc. You can rent a golf cart right from the island club, there is a smallish pool that was clean, and it is conveniently located on the island. The living area of the rental is decent and the kitchen is functional with most normal amenities. There is some cute island decor and the decks are nice after being cleaned up. The biggest drawback for us is that there was no garden tub in the bathroom as described in the listing. I contacted the host who said she must have forgotten to remove the pics and details from the VRBO description. We specifically wanted to have this so we were bummed. According to some former reviews it was out of commission before so it didn't just happen. Also, if you are a neat freak, this place might creep you out. It needs a really good deep cleaning. There are layers of dust in corners, on lamps, on decor, baseboards have not been cleaned in a while. There was trash left in drawers in the master bedroom, no liners in small trash cans. It appeared that the cleaning crew came in, cleaned the fridge, cleaned the toilets and left toilet paper. The rugs are dingy, and our feet were pretty gray after walking around barefoot in the rental. I felt that the mandatory fee of 60 for damage and cleaning was not fair as it was not very clean to begin with and we were instructed to clean all our dishes, trash, etc.
