The neighbourhood
Shops and the market in the town centre are a 7-minute walk away; a bakery is less than 5 minutes away – ideal for fresh bread every morning. A footpath leads to Caroual beach via the viaduct in 15 minutes; a large beach with fine sand, a paradise for sand yachting and water sports. Erquy Centre Beach, smaller but in the heart of the town, sheltered between Cap d’Erquy and Pointe de la Heussaye, is flanked by a pedestrian promenade featuring a children’s playground.
Water sports:
Courses available at the sailing club: sand yachting, dinghy sailing, kayaking, catamaran sailing and windsurfing, as well as equipment hire for a short trip out to sea!
Kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and surfing schools, as well as boat trips to explore the Cap d’Erquy and Cap de Fréhel.
A trip out to sea on the historic sailing ship ‘La Sainte-Jeanne’.
Information on these various activities is available at the Maison de la Mer in Erquy harbour
Why not cycle around the town, along the harbour, or set off to explore Erquy’s various neighbourhoods…
And for those put off by Erquy’s hilly terrain, electric-assist bikes are available. Cap Fréhel and Dahouët harbour via the greenway are within everyone’s reach with an electric-assisted bike. Bikes can be hired from the Erquy Tourist Office or Cap Evasion (Les Salines Plurien campsite)
