The apartment is located in a peaceful residential street a short walk from the lovely Les Leques beach. Shops and amenities are nearby and it’s an ideal base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
Whilst the apartment was clean and well presented there were a few things that were not ideal.
Communication with the owner was not ideal. Delays in information about check in arrangements and no reply regarding whether the property supplies sheets and towels. I understand that the language barrier is a concern but it is possible to get by with Google translate.
Check in time was inflexible. Listing states 4pm check in which was ideal for us as travelling from Nice airport at 12 midday.
However the property manager became annoyed when we said we could not arrive until around 2-3 pm as she needed to meet us there and needed to be elsewhere at this time. Perhaps a key safe would useful in this case however was not an option. This made for a somewhat fraught drive from Nice to the property. The property manager then asked for €50 for sheets . As I had purposefully asked the owner if they were provided and received no reply I was somewhat bemused to learn of this charge which is not mentioned in the listing at all. This fee was waived by the owner but unfortunately what ensued was a 4 way conversation between me, the manager, her son and the owner. Similarly on leaving the property the manager asked for € 60 for cleaning , again not mentioned in the listing or at any point prior to or on arrival.
There is no air conditioning. It may have been helpful if a few air cooling fans were available in the property, especially in the roof level bedroom which was extremely hot.
Only one quite flat pillow per person and pillows did not have pillow protective covers just pillowcase.
Overall we had a lovely holiday but clearer information in the listing and better communication with the owner and property manager would have made the experience better.
